Mark was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Bishop McDevitt High School, located in Wyncote Pennsylvania, he went on to attend Saint Paul’s College, located in Lawrenceville, Virginia where majored in Business Administration with a concentration in management. He received a B.S. degree.
In 1986, Mark recruited by the Internal Revenue Service where he spent 13 years in field collections in the position of Revenue Officer in the Philadelphia and Norfolk Virginia Duty Offices. He dealt with cases involving extreme tax negligence, and was trained to use a wide range of data gathering skills and ingenuity to investigate and analyze complex business and financial matters of taxpayers who use subterfuge, such as subsidiary organizations and dummy corporations, nominee accounts, fraudulent transfers and family relationships, to conceal their assets and income. He was required to apply a comprehensive knowledge of enforcement devices including those such as liens and levies, recommendation of foreclosure suits and restraining orders to prevent transfer of assets to evade tax collection.
In 1999, he resigned from the Internal Revenue Service and entered the mortgage industry with Fairfax Mortgage, located in Newport News, Virginia. He perfected his skills as a loan officer and elevated to senior loan officer very quickly. He attracted the attention of Weststar Mortgage, one of the largest mortgage companies in the state of Virginia, and transitioned into management, where he consistently managed a team of 15 to 20 loan officers and set numerous production records in the Newport News Office.
Looking to advance his career and take on new challenges, he accepted a lucrative proposal from Union Mortgage Group, a subsidiary of Union Bank and Trust, where he was tasked with opening and developing the banks first mortgage branch on the Peninsula. By 2010, he had accumulated a vast wealth of financial industry experience.
Real Estate was the one aspect of the industry he was most drawn to and desired to focus on. He obtained his Real Estate license and began practicing and specializing and concentrating on Real Estate Investors, which primarily consists of assisting investors in developing and managing their portfolios. As his client list began to grow he realized he needed to provide a higher level of support and service to his clients .
In 2018, he joined Coldwell Banker Commercial Brooks Real Estate, which was a perfect fit, and has enabled him to provide an unparalleled level of support to his existing clients and enabled him to take on new clients, regardless of their investment level or industry focus. Mark performs all aspects of commercial real estate, but specializes in working with investors and business owners of all sizes, as well as multi-family properties, including all sizes of apartment complexes.
